Write-up

A captivating tale of Odysseus’s journey home after the Trojan War. Fagles’ translation brings life to the text, but I felt its dense, lyrical style occasionally disrupted the narrative flow for first-time readers like myself.

The story’s blend of mythic adventure, human resilience, and divine intrigue remains timeless, making it a rewarding, if at times challenging, introduction to the genre
